ALPHA GPC

ALPHA GLYCEROL PHOSPHORYL CHOLINE  (ALPHA GPC)

Alpha-glycerophosphocholine (Alpha-GPC or α-GPC) is a cholinergic compound that is used for its cognitive-promoting properties, and to enhance power output in athletes. It appears to also support cellular membranes that boost cognition, help with dementia, enhance athletic performance, and support stroke recovery. Alpha-GPC seems to enhance athletic performance in healthy young people. It might stimulate muscle building by increasing growth hormone in both the young and old, but the evidence is limited and suggests a temporary effect.

WHAT DOES ALPHA GPC DO?

Alpha-GPC supports the nervous system by boosting acetylcholine and cholinergic activity. It also raises the levels of other brain-protective messengers such as Gaba, Dopamine, Serotonin and Inositol phosphate. Alpha-GPC increases a chemical in the brain called acetylcholine. This brain chemical is important for memory and learning functions. Alpha-GPC has gained popularity among weightlifters, athletes, and bodybuilders due to its supposed ergogenic properties.

ALPHA GPC BENEFITS AND USES

Improving memory, thinking skills, learning and other conditions. Research shows that taking alpha-GPC helps to improve thinking skills in Alzheimer patients after 3 to 6 months of treatment. Early research shows that stroke patients who receive alpha-GPC within 10 days after the stroke seem to have a better recovery. Early research also shows that giving alpha-GPC as a shot might improve symptoms of this condition, including behavior, mood, and thinking skills.
